Ride through Antigua’s countryside, rich in daily West Indian life, local villages, old churches, all exemplifying West Indian culture, take in the magnificent view of Falmouth Harbour, on through to English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard.

Built in 1725, the Dockyard served as the base for the English naval squadron patrolling the West Indies. As you enter this quite stunning historic park, the only working Georgian dockyard in the world, you are met by your National Park’s Guide who leads you on a short, informative walking tour through the dockyard with its beautifully restored buildings, detailed plaques, and many points of interest.

After this guided walk you have free time to explore the dockyard, museum, art gallery, gift shop, and boutiques. Your tour continues to Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre at Shirley Heights where you will view a fascinating 15-minute multimedia presentation which traces the island's history from prehistoric times to the present day.

Continue on up to the former signal station, Shirley Heights Lookout, for a picture-perfect view of Nelson's Dockyard and the entire breadth of English Harbour.

Your waiting bus then takes you on a relaxing drive through rural countryside northwards, where we have a timely stop for around 45 minutes at one of Antigua’s famed white sand beaches for a complimentary and refreshing rum or fruit punch.

Relax in your reserved sun chair, simply stroll along the beach or take a ‘cool down’ swim in the Caribbean Sea, before continuing your short journey back to St John’s.
