You will be met at the ship by your tour guide and driven to the Hodges Bay Club about 10 to 15 minutes pleasant drive from your ship. From here you will take a short 5 to 7 minutes enjoyable boat ride to your private and secluded island for the day, Prickly Pear Island. It is Antigua’s oldest owner operated excursion, now in its 35th year and one of Antigua’s best-kept secret hideaways.
Time will stand still as you arrive on this friendly family run island. There is an open bar all day where you can enjoy beers, rum punch, rum, coke, fruit punch, and soft drinks. There will be snacks available before lunch of local bread fried plantain chips, and local seasonal fruits etc.
The crystal clear waters are great for swimming and snorkeling. The crew knows every inch of the island's reef and, after a lesson in snorkelling in shallow water, the crew will take you through the reef on a mesmerising underwater tour. Or you can simply take a swim or relax and soak up the sun in the idyllic location on your sun chair.
A delicious lunch will be available from a choice of chicken, fish, curried conch, all garnished with potato salad, rice and tossed salad and bread. A pasta dish will also be available. All complimented with drinks from the open bar.
After lunch, you can enjoy a second foray into the water for another look at the underwater wonders, simply relax in the sun to work on a tan, or take the short walk over the top of the island to the dramatically moonscaped side with its seabirds Atlantic waves.
This is an opportunity to enjoy the Caribbean as it used to be; peaceful and tranquil yet available for as much fun as you want to make. Take a short boat ride, visit and stay on a private island, enjoy your private beach, snorkel in crystal clear waters whilst you see a wonder of brightly coloured Caribbean fish right in front of you; swim, enjoy drinks from the open bar; enjoy a Caribbean lunch prepared by people who know Caribbean food the best and simply relax.
And don’t forget your camera to record wonderful memories!
